An easier solution is to use your existing computer to store all of your media and be able to access that media from any number of devices you already own. Additionally you may just want backups of all your physical media just in case any of them become damaged or broken.

Any number of devices can be used to access your media and show them on your TV. Devices such as the Xbox, Boxee, WD Live TV, AppleTV, a laptop, an HTPC and many others. You can choose to store your media on a number of devices such as a home server, an NAS (Network Accessible Storage) device, an HTPC, an external USB drive or your PC.
